1820 Census of Giles County indicates the Amos Walker household having the following free white males: 1 under the age of 10 years, 1 between 26 and 45 years; the following free white females: 3 under the age of 10 years, 1 between 26 and 45 years. 1 person in agriculture.189

"He was Justice of the Peace when Mercer County, (Virginia) was organized, his district was part of Giles County, (Virginia). He was a member of the first County Court of Mercer County and served on the first Grand Jury in Mercer County. North and South Walker Streets (in Princeton, Mercer County, West Virginia) are named for him."294
